Tea Review: 41 yr old Pu Erh (Unknown Origin)
Posted on March 30th, 2008 by Justin and filed under Tea Review |

Bought some tea which is supposedly to be about 41yrs old of age at the moment. Since its origin is unclear I decided to post how the leaves look like. On opening the packing, one could smell the smoke something similar to the smoking barrier smell, but of course its many folds down. On examining the leaves, its not hard to notice the long leaves and stems. Most of the leaves are black but you could see there are some red ones. There are also many long stems.

Tea Making

I was having tea at the usual tea shop when an experienced old timer spoke about the tea thickness. I have been wondering about this myself and was glad he was thinking the same as me. The thickness of the tea preference voiced down to individual but however some tea should be made thick while some can be made thin. Why so you might ask.

Tea Shop

This is the tea shop which I used to frequent occassionally on Saturadays together with some other tea drinkers like me. Lots of exchange about tea but discussions are not just about tea alone. Its a place where old friends gathered and strangers become friends. Hope to more tea drinkers will be able to join us there. Its located in Bt Timah Shopping Centre basement 1. Look for the Boss, his name is Eric. A friendly guy thats willing to share his knowledge. See you there.

Having tried this tea the first time round and wasn’t really impressed by it, I turned to my friend who got the tea for me for assistance. I have been wondering what had they tasted in the tea but not me which got them so crazy about this tea. And I mean its not only them. Some others too are so drawn to this tea.
